I Choose You!

What was the last live performance you saw?

I think the first and only time we went for a live performance was when I was 8 or 9 years old.

The memory I quite vague but it was a live performance of Pokémon. I don’t remember much of the actual performance but I have blurry memories of the characters. I remember seeing Ash and Pikachu, and oddly, I remember Team Rocket in the “sky”.

I remember sitting in the park, which had an amphitheater area, I remember buying popcorn, and a ring that had flashing lights. But the most distinct memory I have is of the Pikachu balloon that my mom bought for me. It was those helium inflated Pikachu shaped ones, and I was thoroughly fascinated by it. I carried it around the home with me for the rest of the week. Wherever I went, my Pikachu came with me.

But, watching another live performance once in my life is on my bucket list of things to do before I die. Hopefully, sooner than later!

What TV shows did you watch as a kid?

When we were young we did not see a lot of TV.

It feels weird saying that in an era of Netflix. I am shocked by the amount of time in a day I am on my phone.

But the vague memories I have were of the 2pm – 3:30pm time in the afternoon when my sister and me were allowed to watch TV. We had no preference, we watched whichever cartoon was on at that time.

However, in the limited time we did watch I think Tom and Jerry was always my favorite hands down. I enjoyed seeing the love hate relationship they shared and deeply connected to it because I had a similiar bond with my sister. I think I also liked cartoons that depicted fairies and magic. I don’t remember the names though.

Well, who really cared at that age! As long as I did not have to study I would have enjoyed seeing a black screen on TV.

Blank Memory

I wish I had some aspirations to become something at that age. The earliest I remember is probably 11 or 12 but even then I doubt that I really had a passion for any of the things I mentioned.

I doubt I even understood we had to be something when we grow up. I may have wanted to be a fairy or witch or basically any creature that could do magic. I have very vague memories of my childhood which is very much open to interpretations. It could be cause I never understood the importance of those moments, or could be cause I wanted to forget some memories which were painful or it could be as what I would say now that my “ROM” part of the brain is very limited.

I think at that age all I wanted was to be happy, play with my sister all day and hug my parents and sleep at night. I never had a thought of tomorrow and guess that was the best phase of my life.

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Sweet Tooth

I believe with all my heart that I like most kids loved all kinds of candy. As I grew up though I started to loose my interest of most kind of candies.

There are however a few of them that have continued to hold a place in my heart. Kit Kat is my forever favorite! I simply love the Hazelnut chocolate flavor. I know there are other chocolates with the same taste but those wafer covered chocolates will always be my first choice.

I also love the Heartbeat candies.. Especially the purple colored ones. I have not eaten them in a long time but I still have the memory of the taste and it is just amazing.

I am not sure it would be considered as a candy. But when talking about my favorite sweet food item, Loacker cube wafers cannot be excluded. I could eat a whole bag of it at one go. Even though now I don’t prefer having a lot of candies, I still I could binge eat them today.

All these are stuff I have been having since my childhood so I guess they are part of my core memories. I can just close my eyes and imagine their taste.
