Inspirations

Daily writing prompt
Who are you most inspired by?

As a child, I probably would have named a famous person as my inspiration — someone the world had already deemed successful. Ironically, I don’t even remember those childhood idols anymore.

Today, my inspirations are not people themselves, but rather their actions. You don’t have to achieve great things in life. You don’t have to be famous or popular. A person can be an inspiration simply by standing up for what is right. A child defending a friend against bullies, a parent protecting their child’s dignity when others condemn them for low grades, a job seeker walking into an interview after being laid off, a girl demanding her right to education, a survivor holding their head high despite society’s judgment — each of these moments carries a quiet, powerful courage.

In those moments, they become an inspiration because of their pure moral strength. Their courage to keep fighting, to keep moving forward, matters more than physical strength or accolades. And in that moment, they give someone else the courage to stand up too — to face the odds, to keep fighting, even if success doesn’t come right away.

We all have weaknesses. Some are born from the people around us who broke our tiny dreams. Others come from self-doubt and criticism that tie us down, clipping the wings we once had as children. But inspiration is not about perfection. It’s about persistence. It’s about refusing to let those wounds define us.

I draw inspiration from the great actions of ordinary people I see every day. Their courage reminds me that inspiration doesn’t live in fame or fortune — it lives in the quiet strength of those who keep moving forward, no matter the odds. Inspiration is not a pedestal. It’s a spark. And sometimes, the smallest acts of courage light the brightest flames.

“Show me a hero, I will write you a tragedy”

This quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald is my most favorite quote.

I first heard this quote when I was watching the TV series “Criminal Minds” and it instantly resonated with me.

We all like a hero’s story of victory but little to we understand the ordeal that individual overcame to be that “hero”. Some of my friends told me that this sounds like a very negative quote. They said the quote focuses on the point that no hero has a happy backstory.

But in my opinion, I think the quotes shifts the focus from the end of the journey to the journey in itself. Yes, the hero is the victor at the end, however, it was the struggles that defined him. Everyone loves to have that happy conclusion to the story. When victory is achieved you always find throes of people following you. But it is in the long arduous journey that you find yourself lonely. You find true friends and realize your courage to face the obstacles that were stacked up against you.

Every failure, every setback is what defines you. Two steps forward one step back. Every little experience defines your character. How you deal with every circumstance that comes your way is what makes you a hero or a villain.

I am still on the journey to being a hero not for others but for myself. Hoping that someday I can be someone’s hero too.

Everyone I Know

Everyone at some point in their life is confident. I always inspired by the people around me.

It’s a wonder to see how people rise up to occasions. You would think school is a minefield. You always get put on the spot, but there are some people even in situations like that are able to confidently navigate the situation.

And just when school gets over, we find the real world is a whole new game. Everything you do is scrutinized and judged. I was so scared of everything I did. But the more I observed the more I realized that no one has everything figured out. Even the smartest person made mistakes but the thing they did different was that they never paid heed to their failures.

They faced every situation with the best attitude and accepted the results no matter what. I am learning to be confident in myself, if not always, at least in certain situations to begin with.
